Take the Next Step
OBJECTIVE:
A local business contacted CTS while searching for fiber optic internet service. At first glance, it sounded like a standard request: provide a quote for bandwidth and service. It quickly became clear this was not a standard conversation.
Primary Issues to Resolve
The customer revealed that CTS was the fourth provider they had contacted. The first three carriers focused almost entirely on selling bandwidth. Bigger circuits, higher speeds, more monthly cost — but very little discussion around what the business actually needed.
The customer was frustrated because nobody was listening. They did not just need "more internet". They needed the right solution, designed around their operations, usage, reliability needs, and support expectations.
Issue 1: Providers were selling bandwidth instead of solving the problem – The previous bidders approached the opportunity like a commodity sale. They quoted speed, price, and contract terms, but did not take the time to understand the customer's environment.
Issue 2: The customer suspected they were already being oversold – The business had concerns that their current service was more than they actually needed, but they lacked the reporting and visibility to prove it.
Issue 3: The customer needed local support and accountability – Internet service is not just about speed. When something goes wrong, the customer needed a provider that would answer the phone, understand the environment, and take ownership.
SOLUTION IMPLEMENTED
Listened first, quoted second – CTS took a different approach. Instead of leading with speeds and pricing, we started with discovery. We reviewed how the business operated, what applications mattered most, where downtime would hurt, what their current pain points were, and what kind of support experience they expected after installation.
Designed the service around the business need – Rather than simply selling the biggest circuit possible, CTS recommended a fiber solution that fit the customer's actual usage and growth expectations. The goal was not to win a race on paper. The goal was to deliver the right service with the right support behind it.
Provided a local company with local accountability – CTS is not a faceless carrier selling bandwidth from three states away. We are local, we answer the phone, and we support what we sell. That matters when the internet connection is tied directly to daily operations, phones, payment systems, cloud applications, remote access, and customer service.
Delivered visibility after installation – After the service was installed, CTS provided utilization reporting so the customer could finally see how their circuit was being used. The reports confirmed what the customer suspected: they had been oversold. Their actual utilization did not justify the oversized recommendations being pushed by other providers.
Results
The customer received more than a fiber internet connection. They received a right-sized solution, local support, and the peace of mind that comes from working with a provider who actually listened.
CTS may not always be the cheapest option on paper, and we are fine with that. Cheap bandwidth without proper design, visibility, and support can get expensive fast.
Our job is not to sell the biggest pipe. Our job is to understand the business, design the right solution, implement it cleanly, and support it locally. In this case, the customer gained reliable fiber service, better insight into their usage, and confidence that they were no longer paying for someone else's sales quota.
That is the CTS difference.
